Hand Wave Controls Car Stereo

JVC-Mobile-KD-X401JVC KD-X40 & KD-X50BT: $109.95 and $139

I'll admit it, I still have CDs floating around in my car. There’s just something about them, it’s like a safety net of reliable music just in case I ever forget my iPod and can’t stand the local stations that day. Obviously the folks at JVC are more ready to move on than I am. They've rolled out their first CD slot-less aftermarket stereo line that will have USB integration for iPhone, Blackberry and Android. If that wasn’t futuristic enough, the stereo will be controlled by hand movements.

Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to gesture emphatically at other drivers without accidentally changing the station. To change songs, a user must swipe the screen and draw an upside down or right side up “V” which controls the source of music and equalizer settings. The higher end of the CD-free stereos, the KD-X50BT, will have Bluetooth connectivity and audio streaming. Both models will be unveiled at CES in January.
