This year will be the 2012 Summer Olympics. While this is rightly a celebration of physical excellence, sports of these types also allow an opportunity to enhance our minds. Sports are about the sophisticated application of force to achieve a desired outcome ... which means that provide an inherently interesting environment for studying applied physics.
